The result is a win-win situation for EZ Lube, for the community and for every vehicle owner who balances the need to maintain their vehicle with periodic disposal of used and contaminated motor oils and automotive fluids. EZ Lube Recycling Efficiency at 98% EZ Lube is proud to recycle 98-percent of all the used automotive fluid products we receive at all of our 82 locations. Our waste management program includes contracts with federally licensed waste oil and fluid haulers that transport our used fluids off-site where they can be properly recycled, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.

In fact, in 2008 EZ Lube recycled over 5.2 million quarts of used motor oil and used transmission fluid, according to EPA guidelines.

OSHA Approved Waste Oil Handling
As part of our ongoing commitment to recycling, EZ Lube—an approved oil collection center— will collect and recycle used motor oil from local area residents at no charge, even if EZ Lube does not perform their fluid change services. Furthermore, during the used fluids recycling process EZ Lube does not use buried, underground storage tanks, eliminating the possibility of soil contamination due to leakage. Our oil products and waste oil products are stored in the basement inside OSHA approved UL rated steel tanks. The underground basement at each EZ Lube facility has been specifically designed with leakage protection redundancy in mind and is a legal secondary spill containment area.

A Few Uncomfortable Facts:
An estimated 250 million gallons of used automotive oil per year are dumped into storm drains by do-it-yourself oil changers. At EZ Lube we think this is a needless shame. In order to fulfill our commitment to the environment, EZ Lube locations will accept used motor oil- and recycle it along with the used fluids from our paying customers—with no questions asked.

Improperly disposed of automotive oil from a single oil change can contaminate up to one million gallons of fresh water. That said - is there any better reason to recycle your used automotive oil responsibly?

The Green Side:
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, over 380 million gallons of used motor oil is recycled every year. This equates to more than 50 percent of all motor oil that is purchased annually. It’s a good start, but we’re only halfway there!
